Will Aryan's time in jail end today?

The Bombay High Court today will hear the bail plea of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, in drugs on cruise case. Aryan had approached the HC after a special court in Mumbai on October 20 denied him bail on the grounds that he was indulging in "illicit drug activities on a regular basis". The 23-year-old's judicial custody was also extended till October 30. The HC on October 21 scheduled the case for October 26 while requesting the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to file its reply in the matter by Monday. Aryan, who is currently lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail, was arrested by the NCB on October 3 during a raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on its way to Goa. The 23-year-old met his father, SRK, on October 21 in the jail after the restrictions for family visits were eased. Earlier, family members of prisoners and undertrial inmates were not allowed in the wake of Covid-19. This was the first time that Aryan met any member of his family since the arrest and also the first time SRK made a public appearance since October 3. Earlier on Dussehra, Aryan had an emotional video call with his parents and had also received a money order of Rs 4,500 from SRK which he could use to purchase water and food from the jail's canteen. 87269534 87269542The NCB is currently investigating the drugs case in which it had also summoned Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey for questioning on Thursday after it raided her Bandra residence and seized her laptop and mobile phone. The actress was also grilled by the anti-drugs agency on Friday. Ananya is being questioned after her name cropped up in certain WhatsApp chats of Aryan where the accused had asked the actress if she could arrange ganja (cannabis) for her to which she had replied, "I can arrange". However, during questioning, Ananya said she was "joking" in the chat and denied all the allegations of supplying or consuming contraband. 87268289Also, as a part of the investigation, Bollywood actor Ananya Panday arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) Mumbai office after the probe agency summoned her for questioning in connection with the Mumbai cruise drug case on October 21-22.So far, the NCB has arrested over 20 people in the case.
